Rehoming
My love for dogs started at a very young age when, to my Mother's horror, I kept bringing strays home to feed them.
I remember my first sighting of a Vizsla. It was on Country File. I had never seen one before and was instantly drawn to their vivid rust colour, dark amber eyes and their stature.I thought they were the most beautiful dogs I had ever seen.
I researched the breed to learn how intelligent, affectionate and sensitive they were. I was at a stage in my life were I had plenty of time to give lots of love and attention to one.
In 2014 we brought Rheba home. It was pure love at first sight. A year later her brother Quincy [same parents] joined us. They completed our family. They were my "babies".
When Quincy [10 years 4 moths] left us on February 2nd this year, we were totally heartbroken. Rheba was grieving for him, so a few weeks later Rubio our little minature Dachshund came to befriend her. Unfortunately 12 weeks later we also lost my very special girl Rheba [11yrs 8mths]. It was a great shock going from having 2 Vizslas to now none.
I have always said if I was ever lucky enough to find a Vizsla to rehome, then thats what I would do.
I used to volunteer in an pet rescue centre near me. Even though the animals were well cared for and exercised, they were missing a loving stable homelife.
We belong to NI Vizsla group and I had noticed on the Royal Uisneach website, 4 Viszlas needed rehomed.
My eyes were drawn to Kobe and I couldn't stop thinking of him. I contacted Deborah and arranged a visit.
Kobe came home with us that night. He has helped us cope with our grief. He is such a beautiful intelligent, quiet gentlemen. He has filled my days again. We go walking every day and he and Rubio love each other and are great friends.
We have bypassed all the puppy training and chewing to find a mature, loving boy who adores lying beside me on the settee every night and getting stroked. He has been the best thing that has happened to us since February and has fitted into our family so very well. I would encourage anyone to consider rehoming, especially Vizslas as they give 100% to their families with total love and devotion We hope we have many years with Kobe.
