Hello! This is Benson, he’s an Irish Assistance Dog. I got Benson back in September of 2019 from Royal Uisneach Hungarian Vizslas when he was 10 weeks old, and he has made a huge positive impact on my life ever since that day. An Assistance Dog is a dog trained to the highest of standards to mitigate their handler’s disabilities, for example, a guide dog is just one type of assistance dog, there are so many more. Benson has a multitude of tasks that help me in my day to day life, but I will name the most important ones. He can alert me to an upcoming seizure up to 40 minutes before it even happens, dogs have powerful noses and can smell the change of chemicals in your saliva which happen before a seizure, this helps me get to a safe place and tell someone so I don’t get hurt. He guides me in busy environments when I get dizzy or when my disabilities make it hard for me to see. As funny as it sounds, Benson also helps around the house, I have trained him to get me a bottle of water, to pick up items of the floor, to turn on and off lights and to open and close doors independently. Having Benson has given me my independence and my life back. Before him, I couldn’t even leave the house by myself as it was too dangerous. Benson has attended an uncountable amount of hospital appointments with me, he has stayed with me while I was admitted to hospital; he comes everywhere with me; public transport, shopping, you name it, he’s by my side. When I was in secondary school, Benson attended with me every single day and when I start college he will be be right by my side. In Ireland, most assistance dogs are trained by charities, however there were no charities in Ireland who could provide me with a dog to suit my needs. Benson is entirely owner trained by myself, I am a founding member of the OTADI, a group of people who train their own assistance dogs. Assistance dogs will not work in every situation under the sun for every disabled person, and the decision to get one should not be one made on a whim. I am so lucky to have this dog, he has truly saved my life, on so many occasions. Thank you for reading our story!

We are the proud pawrents of two vizslas Cali and Willow and we’d have ten more if we could! We started using Deborah’s boarding facilities about two years ago when Cali was our only pup. She takes such great care of the dogs from the second they are dropped off, the dogs get excited as we are pulling up now as they know they are in for a good stay.

In Nov 22 we were dropping Cali off for a stay while we were heading away and we met the adorable litter of pups that we couldn’t say no to - and Willow joined our family shortly after. Though we had experience with Cali already, Deborah was very knowledgeable and helpful about the specifics of the Vizsla breed, they are a unique breed of dog, but we could not envisage our lives without them now. The love they have to offer is immense, and we are so grateful to have them. We couldn’t recommend Deborah enough - her puppies are of fantastic breed lines, and the help and guidance she offers to all new owners is invaluable.

We got Apollo from Deborah of Royal Uisneach Hungarian Vizslas in early 2021. From the get go Deborah was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We made contact with deborah several months before we got our doggy. During which she invited us to her kennels let us meet all of her dogs and answer all of our questions.

Since getting Apollo she has answered any questions we've had from diet to behavioural questions and everything in between. In addition she has looked after Apollo several times, always updating us and sending videos, he always has a great time!

I could not recommend Deborah enough, her knowledge and love for her dogs shines through, she always wants the best home for them & always wants to know how they are getting on.
